Each of these watches are undeniably feminine, and obviously luxury watches with prices of ,000 plus. There is a growing subset of the luxury market that places less emphasis on formality and more on whimsy and visual interest. They are all worth checking out.

I make no judgments about other Hamilton watches, most of them are quite splendid and nice to own. Though now I will sit there and test each watch before buying it to make sure the watch maker inserted all the necessary hands.

The Green Vault is located near the clock tower that has a lot of historical significance for A. Lange and Sohne because the original founder apprenticed here under master watch maker Friedrich Gutkaes, and began his idea for a manufacture. A short distance away is the famous "five minute clock" located in the Semper Opera House that is also tied to A. Lange & Sohne's history having been created in Gutkaes' manufactury in 1841 . These locations are in Dresden, but that is not where A. Lange & Sohne began. Lange wanted to enter a new region as Dresden was crowded with watch makers at the time. Eyes were set about 45 minutes south to Glashutte near the Ore Mountains. It was a poor region at the time. There, Lange saw potential in the people as watch makers due to their focus on crafts and weaving. Attention to tiny detail can easily be transferred to other skills with good direction. Today Glashutte is a different place than it was then, completely transformed by these actions in the 19th century. What is so amazing to me is that after all those years, and considering all the other things that have changed, the core elements of watches and clocks remain the same. It is that type of tradition that A. Lange & Sohne refers to when using the term "tradition."
Lots of people have had things to say about the grimace on the face of the moon. Frankly I don't have a problem with it. They think it is angry, I see it more as being serious. What else would the Moon feel given the state of the Earth right now and environmental change? A reminder that no matter how much of the Moon we are able to see, the celestial monolith still presides over much of what keeps Earth ecosystems alive, and if sentient, would probably not approve of our treatment of the only habitat we have. Overall, you don't have to love the application of the moonphase complication in the Korona K3, but you should still appreciate the unique approach, and the creativity behind the design. Keep your eyes on Sarpaneva as an up-and-coming brand to pay attention to in my humble opinion. www.sarpanevawatches.com
Most rich people didn't become rich because they don't care about money. If you have a lot of money, it probably means you are good with money and don't squander it. This might not apply to the "landed aristocracy" who are born into wealth, but that is becoming less common these days. The bottom line is that people who are worth a lot enjoy this state of grace due to at least some knowledge of preserving and growing money.
So with having the concept of avant garde in mind, I wish to discuss the Temption CGK204, which is a different take on the Temption CGK203 (which I own, and love, and have reviewed here). Both watches share the infinitely capable ETA Valjoux 7751 automatic movement that as you can see has a ton of complications. This is probably the most complex movement that is as low priced as it is. Valjoux 7751are based on the very robust Valjoux 7750, and are typically contained in watches costing between ,000 - ,000. The price that you can get a Temption CGK204 is significantly lower than this. The Valjoux 7751 offers a lot of complications including, hours, minutes, seconds, synchronized GMT, 12 hour chronograph, annual calendar (with day, date, and month), and a moonphase indicator. All that, and Temption does such a splendid job of displaying the full functionality of the movement and keeping the face relatively uncluttered; an admittedly tough job if you've seen other watches that share the same movement.

The Thomas Prescher Tempusvivendi series is based on a double retrograde movement meant to display the hours and minutes through two moving hands. The movement is an automatic mechanical movement with a 40 hour power reserve and a special push button on the crown. Pushing the button returns the hands to the position in the pictures. This is the "resting" or non-temporal position of the watch hands. This so you can see the American Eagle in its more regal of states. Pushing the button again returns the hands to a temporal position so that you can view the time. Thus, you have these two moves of operation at your disposal.
Prices are a funny thing. We often don't understand why we pay what we do, nor do we often understand why some places can or do charge more for the same goods. In the retail goods market, there is such a thing as the MSRP, or manufacturer's suggested retail price. I have no idea where this price comes from. The best I can understand, there is a secret smokey room meeting where such numbers are obtained. MSRP prices attempt to combine the cost of production along with design, marketing, administrative costs, distribution, and of course profit.

As a watch, the LUM-TEC M3 performs without fault. The quartz movement does its job without hesitation, and the included functions are useful. While the dial layout may suggest a 12 hour chronograph, this is actually a 30 minute chronograph with a synchronized 24 hours hand (useful for telling the difference between AM and PM). Owning this watch, you'll really be using the time telling function the most. The movement inside is not best suited for consistent chronograph usage. But if you are looking for a watch first, and a chronograph second, the M3 will suit you. Also included is an easy set date function. I like that the crown is screw-down, which adds a significant feeling of value to the watch. Legibility is good, and the view into the dial is clear thanks to the anti-reflective coating on both the top and bottom of the sapphire crystal.
