The Nettuno Chronograph is fitted with a hardy ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement in a 40mm wide case. This is of the more soberly sized diver's watches out there that are still professional grade in my opinion. The new Bi-Color edition shares all the great parts of the original Nettuno Chronograph but with the new color options,. There is also the special textured black leather strap with contrast stitching that fits so well with the look of the case. A metal bracelet is of course available. You'll appreciate that the Nettuno Chronograph is a function first watch. Meaning that things are designed so that watch is easy to read and functional. Thus, looking at the dials and hands of the watch indicates that they were designed to be relied upon, rather than merely for style (that the watch looks nice is good too). Marcello C. is known for their attention to details. A good example of this is that this new Bi-Color collection of Nettuno Chronograph watches uses a black colored date disc rather than the standard white. This is a small touch, but really helps give the Bi-Color versions of the watch their own character apart from the standard models. The watch is a true diver and water resistant to 300 meters. Overall it is an excellent watch. The price for the standard version of the Marcello C. Nettuno Chronograph is about ,300 (a good value). I expect that the Nettuno Bi-Color Chronograph will be just a bit more, but not significantly much. Not sure about availability yet, but certainly contact Marcello C. watches here for more information about pricing and availability.
What is really nice about this version of the new Formula 1 is the clean but attractive face that is very pleasing to look at and use. See the image of another new for 2009 Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch, the Grande Date Chronograph. This watch just feels so cluttered and contradictory to the point of this timepiece. Sure it looks cool, but I wouldn't want to live with it each day. The Formula 1 Grande Date has a large subsidiary seconds dial with an integrated big date. It is hard to see the big date in the images (how ironic), but it is at the 6 o'clock position. The hands on the face are totally new for the watch line, and I think I like them. The best part of the dial are the raised hour numerals and indexes. They have a rich amount of Superluminova so that they will glow. This of course is on the black faced model. The white faced model is basically all lume, with the numerals and markers being in black.
Often for women's watches only the aesthetic details are taken into consideration. Which is a bit frustrating for female watch aficionados. While the Contessa model does not feature any high complications, to show off Eterna's esteem as a manufacture, the simplicity of this timepiece is sure to attact women looking for a versatile, stylish everyday watch.

Omega ups the ante with this new Seamater Aqua Terra GMT Chronograph watch. The timepiece is available in either steel or 18k red gold, and on both versions the hands and hour markers on the dial are in 18k gold. Sounds like Rolex territory to me. Not sure if any previous Seamaster Aqua Terra watches had gold (white) in the dials of even steel watches. The vertical line pattern of the dial is meant to look like the deck of a boat (the "Teak Concept"), which explains part of the ritzy character of the watch. The dial will have highly polished features, and you can tell it is nice and deep to look into. There is of course a metal (steel or gold) bracelet available in addition to the alligator strap. The watch will be a good size at 44mm wide. Things were getting kinda crazy with the 46mm plus sizes that Omega started to dabble with a little while ago.
This is a good article to read for anyone who has an interest in design classics as well as a bit of history behind them. Watches are a range of items that have many classic designs. These designs fit into two areas, ones that are classics because they look good, and others because they function well. The best designs do both. I wrote this article as a preview of a new line of books from Phaidon Press, and covered just five of many modern design classic watches that will be featured in the upcoming books.

The ,000 question (literally) is whether buyers are going to be taken enough by the watch to buy it. No one will argue that the watch is unattractive, as it clearly has its merits, and as 1000 meter diver it is at least made solidly. The tourbillon movement has always been about enjoyment in watching it operate. The question is whether enough people will be taken by the design plus the mechanics to appreciate it as a worthy alternative given the less expensive, but still expensive price. Longio's challenge will be to show customers what goes into the creation of each of its tourbillon watches. Chinese firms have always had a weak communication ability in terms of "speaking" to Western nations - so Longio will likely need to reach out to external sources to gets its messages across. Until then, you have this watch item of interest which should be available soon.
Such watches are not unreadable of course (just for people who aren't wearing the watch). To compensate for similar colors of black, the watches have different textures and other mechanisms to help with legibility. Part of the 'point' of the watch is making it difficult for people other than the wearer to know what time it is (or what watch they are wearing). I have to admit that a lot of the watches are pretty cool looking. Still pretty easy to read (on your own wrist), you will no doubt get a lot of people saying "hey, what is with you watch? Let me see that." The watch which this Black Stealth limited edition is based on is one of Sinn's newer diving watches, the U1. With a uniquely designed dial and hands, it is certainly of the most fashion (but still functional) oriented Sinn watches out there.
Another unique detail on the Moonflower is that the Hours, Minutes, and Seconds indicators have been replaced by traditional hands with 3 separate discs that move in harmony with the movement of the watch.
But one thing I do know… When I look at their home web site videos, which are low key, understated even, but which take time to carefully highlight the craftsmanship, the magic of the assembly process, those marvellous complications and the elegance of so many beautiful watches within their collection…….that does impress me.
The Tourbillon Steampunk Ala Grande really has no dial. Instead the watch has exposed springs and rods meant to remind you of a ship's engine room. This watch is for boating steampunk enthusiasts. Again, think of what the engine room on the titanic must have looked like. You have to admit the look of the face is pretty cool - though it is all for style. The large Roman numeral 12 doesn't really help much to tell the time. While the large hands are coated with Superluminova, you aren't going to be relying on this watch as your trusty timepiece for when you've downed too much Absinthe and are trying to figure out when you need figure out when the sun is coming up.
City Pules' data collected from the Green Watch will be available to anyone. You will be able to visit the interactive map located at la Montre Verte City Pulse here to see the most polluted areas in Paris (in French). You can also download the data on the website. The project literally just started in May, so it is brand new. I do think it is quite cool, and the watch looks like an eye on purpose. It is there to always "view" what is going on with the environment. Leave it to the French to build in the symbolism - I love it. Eventually the project will have thousands of people, hopefully all over the world who are using this type of cloud sourcing concept to battle the problem of having always up to date information on environmental conditions.
